His son Fernand Maret enlarged the estate. In 1973 Michel Maret took over the property as third generation. He was the one who named the estate Domaine de la Charbonnière from the lieu-dit around the domain. The name means the area of charcoal burning. The fourth generation Veronique and Caroline have both been working at the domain for some years and since the beginning of 2014 they have taken over the responsability. Veronique has been responsible for the wine making since 2007. Mireille and Michel still work hard at the domain. Since 2000 most of the grapes have been destemmed, and since a few years truncated wooden tanks have been used for fermenting of the red wines to make them more enjoyable and fruity in their youth. Through the last few years some investments have been made so the cellars today fulfil all the conditions for a modern winery. Everything is very nice and clean. The property covers 18.5 ha of Chateauneuf du Pape, 4 ha of Vacqueyras (in Sarrians), 2 ha of Cotes du Rhone and 3 ha of IGP. Since 2015 the vineyards have been certified agriculture biologique. Since harvest 2015 Philippe Cambie is the advisor of Veronique.\u003c\/p\u003e","published_at":"2017-04-23T18:14:58-04:00","created_at":"2017-04-23T18:14:59-04:00","vendor":"Domaine de la Charbonniere","type":"Red","tags":["2013","domaine-de-la-charbonniere","france","over-75","red","rhone"],"price":12411,"price_min":12411,"price_max":12411,"available":true,"price_varies":false,"compare_at_price":null,"compare_at_price_min":0,"compare_at_price_max":0,"compare_at_price_varies":false,"variants":[{"id":38289437452,"title":"Default Title","option1":"Default Title","option2":null,"option3":null,"sku":"154","requires_shipping":true,"taxable":true,"featured_image":null,"available":true,"name":"2013 Domaine de la Charbonniere Chateauneuf du pape Vielles Vignes","public_title":null,"options":["Default Title"],"price":12411,"weight":0,"compare_at_price":null,"inventory_quantity":1,"inventory_management":"shopify","inventory_policy":"deny","barcode":null,"requires_selling_plan":false,"selling_plan_allocations":[],"quantity_rule":{"min":1,"max":null,"increment":1}}],"images":["\/\/finding-wine2.myshopify.com\/cdn\/shop\/products\/154.jpg?v=1492985699"],"featured_image":"\/\/finding-wine2.myshopify.com\/cdn\/shop\/products\/154.jpg?v=1492985699","options":["Title"],"media":[{"alt":"Chateauneuf du pape Vielles Vignes","id":257899823186,"position":1,"preview_image":{"aspect_ratio":1.0,"height":1000,"width":1000,"src":"\/\/finding-wine2.myshopify.com\/cdn\/shop\/products\/154.jpg?v=1492985699"},"aspect_ratio":1.0,"height":1000,"media_type":"image","src":"\/\/finding-wine2.myshopify.com\/cdn\/shop\/products\/154.jpg?v=1492985699","width":1000}],"requires_selling_plan":false,"selling_plan_groups":[],"content":"\u003cp\u003eEugene Maret the grandfather of Michel Maret bought the property in 1912 as a gift for his wife who was the daughter of a wine grower in the area.
